CHIPS Golf Society was formed in February 1999 as an official English Golf Union Registered Society. Although this scheme no longer exists - EGU Letter October 2007 - we still run the society using the same rules.
Membership is open to employees of Plessey Semiconductors Ltd. and introduced "Associate" members.
The computer program we use to administer society handicaps ( HandicapMaster ) is used by numerous golf clubs and societies throughout the world (including Boringdon Park Golf Club).
We hold monthly competitions plus occasional golf days.
Together with Plessey Semiconductors Ltd. we have taken out Corporate Golf Membership at Boringdon Park Golf Club. We have purchased 4 "corporate cards", which allows 4 people at a time to play golf at either Boringdon Park or Trethorne Golf Club.
