2009-10 Competitions

Summary

The winter 1009-10 competitions were, as has become the norm, affected by the weather. Some members struggled to play a round of golf within the 10 day window but some monthly events were well supported and competitive.

The overall and eclectic competitions produced the same top 3 – Mike James coming first, Phil Osborne second and Kevin Benwell third in both. The rule that no member can win more than 1 prize was invoked and the results were therefore as follows:-

Overall First:                Mike James

Overall Second:            Kevin Benwell

Overall Third:               Mike Bowrey

Eclectic First:                Phil Osborne

Eclectic Second:            Jerry Kneen

In the 2009-10 membership year 17 members won prizes.

We are however constantly looking for variations to maintain members’ interest in the competitions and have made some changes to both the format and the rules for the 2010-11 year. See the “Competition Rules” page for full details.

We will be paying out more than £700 in prizes in the coming year - an increase of approximately 50% - despite having less coming in via subscriptions.
